Born and raised in Shanghai during Deng Xiao Ping’s 1980s “Reform and opening-up (改革开放 Gǎigé kāifàng)” era of China, Lucy originally trained as an engineer and holds a BEng (Mechanical Engineering specialising in Mechatronics) degree from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. She has worked in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Sydney and is completely tri-lingual in English, Chinese Mandarin and the Shanghainese dialect.

Lucy has over 10 years of experience with international professional firms. After starting her career with HSBC, Lucy progressed to Compliance Officer at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. More recently, she has worked for over 5 years in the area of Intellectual Property (IP) legal services with Herbert Smith Freehills and CPA Global.

Lucy identifies, researches and qualifies opportunities for UK clients interested in the Greater China marketplace. Educated as an engineer in China, Lucy also advises on issues relating to intellectual property (IP) protection in China.
